Teething

Owen cut his first two teeth on April 9th. The only thing that really changed was that he started getting up once at night around 3 or 4 and that wasn't bad at all. We thought we were getting off easy. Well we thought wrong. He started getting two more teeth on the 21st and that was the beginning of some very long and stressfull days and nights. He screams and screams and won't sleep unless you're holding him, which isn't easy, since I'm pregnant. This morning, for instance, we got out of bed around 9, from a hard night, and I brought him out to the living room and he slept in my arms for the next 3 hours, waking up a couple times. I didn't get to eat anything till 1pm, which made me feel sick and made it even harder to put up with Owen when he woke up screaming. He's just always in so much pain and I can never find a way to comfort him. The past two nights he got 101 degree fevers and has been so uncomfortable. When it's like that, he wants to be held but at the same time he doesn't and tries to climb out of your arms.
All I can say from this is that I really hope his teeth come in quick so we can get over this and back to normal before the baby comes. I am very thankful that he's getting them now instead of when we have a newborn though; that is definitly a blessing. He also has a very cute smile now. :)

  1. When I had our first child somebody told me, "welcome to being tired for the rest of your life":). So true! If it isn't one thing it's another.
